I have been using Ubuntu for a while. Just had an interesting observation with respect to Google Chrome alone. With every other application having the system control menu on the left navigation side, Google Chrome alone puts the same on the right hand side on the Windows style. Even the About dialog box in the Nautilus File Manager has on the left hand side only.
Google proves that it is distinctively unique in more ways than one even on Linux platform. See the assorted collection of screenshots from different applications on Ubuntu as a single image below:
